Relationships all stem from God’s relationship with Himself in the Trinity.
“And God said, Let us make man in our image.” Genesis 1:26
The Trinity is a great mystery but can simply be stated as three persons in one essence. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit form a perfect relationship called “One.” Deuteronomy 6:4 says it clearly:
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord is One!” (NASB)
This perfect relationship between the 3 persons of the Trinity is heaven’s core. When Satan rose up in pride and developed his own agenda, for the first time in eternity there were “two.” He was immediately removed from heaven, because around God only the principle of one can operate.
When God made Adam and Eve, He crowned them with heaven’s power of one:
“For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24) NASB
Satan was fearful and angry that an earthly relationship had been formed with the same qualities and characteristics as God Himself. He therefore set about to destroy that relationship and succeeded by setting Adam and Eve against each other and later causing one of their son’s to kill the other. His agenda throughout the ages has always been to bring confusion and diversion to powerful relationships. This power of one is demonstrated through the Bible. The Apostle Paul constantly exhorted the church to be
“like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” Phil. 2:2 NKJV
This is the power of ONE!
