Fruit and Patience

Verily, verily I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone; but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” John 12:24

Truth can be seen in the physical and spiritual realms. Jesus illustrated a dynamic spiritual truth with the seed example. The outer casing of a seed has only one purpose: to house the heart of the grain, which produces new life. This outer casing is like our flesh, which houses our soul and spirit. As we “crucify the flesh” and seek those things which are above, the life of the Spirit comes to full fruition in us.

We can confidently say:

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
Stop your Adamic nature from being the dominant force in your life! In Numbers 17:1-8 God took something seemingly dead (Aaron’s rod) and caused it to bud. You may long to function and produce. Within every one of us is a spirit that cries out as Jacob, “I know I am Jacob now, but within me is the desire to become Israel!”

Producing fruit takes patience and the Holy Spirit. How delicious are fresh fruits - plump red strawberries in the spring, juicy watermelons in the summer, golden apples in the fall. Each takes time to become ripe and ready for picking. In the meantime are you feeding and nurturing your spirit, mind, and soul with the Word of God?

Know God: Who He Is (Cultivate)

This post is brought to us by guest author Kellie Myers.

"Who is God?" Many of us have asked ourselves this question, or may still be asking it. I've been a Christian my whole life. I grew up in a wonderful church, and a Christian home. Going to church and learning about God was the "norm" for me. Throughout the years of my Christian walk, I have experienced some doubts about God in some areas of my life, but there was never a time where I did not believe He was real, or if He actually cared.

Taking Jeanine's class Know God: Who He Is has really opened my eyes that God WAS and IS who He says He is. One thing that really impacted me was hearing about Jesus' 12 disciples and how they died. Many, many years after Jesus was gone, they were STILL convinced that Jesus was who He said He was. They all died painful, painful deaths because they would not deny him. They were convinced! We can try all we want, but we can't move forward without the life source, and that life source is God. Build your life on the foundation of Christ! We must make the choice to believe it

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” 28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law. Matthew 7: 24-29

The good news is the good news because of what Christ did for us! I encourage each and every one of you to take this class. Once we know who He really is, we can only grow and move forward from there!
