Bless The LORD!!!

As we continue with our latest series “Made To Worship” last week we focused on “Expressive Worship!” Within this topic we discovered the blessing of Psalms 134:2, 3. “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord. The Lord who made heaven and earth bless you from Zion!” We are commanded to bless Him first; then He blesses us. What a wonderful revelation! We don’t have to wait for any special anointing, or unction from God. We are not dependent on the right atmosphere or leading of the Holy Spirit. God simply teaches us “Stand in the sanctuary, lift up your hands, begin blessing Me, and I will do the rest!”

If only we understood this principle! Using the “Key of David” (Rev. 3:7) is our responsibility. It is our glorious privilege. Think of it! We can stand under the outpoured blessing of the one who created the heavens and the earth and experience that blessing simply by beginning to lift up our hands and bless the Lord!

No wonder David used this key often. Even in the wilderness of Judah when he fled from Saul and was being hunted down as a criminal by the armies of Israel, he used this key of worship: “Because your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your Name!” (Psalms 63:3, 4)

Worshiping the Lord with extended hands is also revealed in the linguistic meaning of the Hebrew verb for praise, yadah, which means to “revere or worship with extended hands” and comes from the root word yad, simply meaning the “open hand.” It is such an amazing realization that we as human beings can literally bless the Lord God Almighty. We have been given that ability by lifting our hands in worship! So let us worship the Lord with our hands lifted high!
